About Tom
Tom Underwood resides in Reva, Virginia, along with his wife Rebecca and daughter Geneva. Since 2000, he has operated Underwood Farms, a cow/calf operation of approximately 200 brood cows in Culpeper County. Tom previously served as Vice-Chairman of the CMR Farm Show Board and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Hereford Association. Tom was elected to the Culpeper County Board of Supervisors in 2007 and 2011 as a Republican, While on the Board, he was Chairman of the CPMT, a member of the Library Board and the Extension Leadership Council.
Underwood worked for Lola Travel Company in various positions including CFO from 2016-2018. Previously, Tom was SVP Hotel Strategy at Orbitz Worldwide, where he led the company’s $2 billion world-wide internet hotel business until Orbitz’s sale to Expedia. Underwood is a chartered financial analyst and has 10 years of experience in equity research, working five years as a hotel analyst at Morgan Keegan and five years as an e-commerce analyst specializing in internet travel at Legg Mason. Prior to his employment at Legg Mason, Tom was manager of hotel operations and director of revenue management for priceline.com.
